Deputy Works Manager





Environment, Health & Safety:

  • To have hands on experience in handling EHS issues
  • To plan, implement & review the best practices related to EHS
  • To build awareness of EHS in plant
  • To ensure compliance under various rules & regulations as applicable to the plant are adhered

Production & Productivity:

  • To achieve yields as per the budgeted yields and review and improve on the same
  • Ensuring preparation and follow through of budget targets and review the same with management
  • Ensure that production observes quality norms as per ISO standards
  • Ensuring budgetary inputs of labour, power, raw materials and availability of machines and follow through of the same
  • Monitoring budgetary cost for various inputs
  • Periodic review for absolute quantity of production, productivity and agree on corrective action and ensure its implementation by the functional heads
  • To review and take decisions on matters pertaining to production and quality depending upon the requirement
  • Technical inputs on products development based on observation of plant working and problems
  • Monitoring consistency in product, process and quality


  • Assisting in preparation of monthly preventive maintenance plans
  • Periodic review on maintenance related to machines down time/up time, preventive and breakdown maintenance
  • Monitoring consumption of stores and spares and timely availability of spares, other capital items
  • Understanding design, life cycle, operating details of various capital components/spares
  • Implement specific steps to curb breakdowns

Administration (including Purchase, stores):

  • Periodic review with administrative officer for matters and variances related to the function and agree on corrective action and ensure its implementation
  • To approve/authorize various departments related expenses of the purchases as per predetermined limit sanctioned by the management
  • To facilitate Commercial Manager in coordinating supply of materials and maintaining inventory levels
  • Co-ordination with Sales department (sitting at Mumbai office) for production planning and customers satisfaction
  • Follow-up through action on important matters reported by internal auditor
  • To maintain regular external contacts
  • To approve and/or guide for advances, loans etc
  • To give reports in the required format including variance analysis and remarks on cause and suggestions to overcome the same

Oversee HR function:

  • Facilitate support to P&A officer for matters relating welfare, training and grievance handling
  • Maintaining rapport with the Union representatives/workers and advise management
  • Implementation of industrial relation policy which is conducive to productivity, discipline and moral
  • To lead committee for review of wage agreements, grades. Study of similar structure for nearby industries of similar nature and size
  • To review and approve action/proceedings by personnel officer under ID Act
  • To assist performance appraisal and appraise the staff and officers reporting to him. Recommendation of annual increments of plant level staff and officers
  • To communicate to key officers and staff about action plans to be decided at various meetins with management and ensure follow-up. Motivation of officers and staff at all levels for optimum performance


  • To monitor capital expenditure of the plant as per budgeted schedules
  • To carry out and/or assist in special studies pertaining to assessment of capacities, productivity, various operations, process, power consumption, consumption of material etc
  • Lead new projects such as MHS, Packing etc and facilitate Projects Managers as and when required


  • Take over responsibility of ISO MR
  • Ensure proper documentation, adherence to SOP, completion of obligatory audits
  • Constant improvement in QMS and emphasis on continuous Improvement

Leading Teams:

  • Managing team performance by populating score cards of department and team
  • Ensure job clarity, proper work allocations among team members by preparing job description
  • Identify training needs of team members and address them in coordination with HR
    Industry: Manufacturing / Infrastructure / EPC

Desired skill set is:

  • High on Business acumen and analytics
  • Strong focus on cost optimization
  • Innovative thinking to design and execute production plan and increase productivity
  • Hands on experience of managing workers, Union Leader, Government authorities Hands on experience in managing a team


  • Engineering graduate specializing in chemical/Mechanical/Polymer/Rubber/Plastics/Polymer technology preferred, Certification in TQM/TPM/GMP practices preferred
